Keep Safe Awareness Day - I am Me Scotland

Today is Keep Safe Awareness Day – Keep Safe is an amazing initiative led by Police Scotland, which supports people with disabilities to participate in community life without fear of harassment and abuse. They have a national network of over 900 Keep Safe places across Scotland which are local businesses such as libraries, cafes, council buildings or town halls that have signed up and receive training to help people with disabilities should they need it. They also have an App which helps people with disabilities map out all Keep Safe places, plan routes in advance and report hate crimes to the Police through the app. You can find out more about Keep Safe on their website: https://iammescotland.co.uk/about-keep-safe.

I Am Me also provides Awareness lessons for Early Years, Primary and Secondary Schools – we were delighted to work with them in creating an Awareness lesson explaining Down’s syndrome. You can view this video here:
